Eva Taulois
ARTIST'S RESIDENCY
ALPHABETICAL, 2014
ATELIER DE LINDRE-BASSE
From 1st March to 31st May 2014
The creative process I set up is always connected to an investigation and research project to do with exploration. I analyze the new contexts I find myself in, and I then try to extract a relevant plastic language from them. I thus give visibility to the idea of an ongoing evolution of forms, while at the same time questioning their origins in new sociological, geographical and historical contexts.
By establishing a new work protocol, I want to make a comparison between the stakes used for trees and bushes and the elements used in the construction of sculptures (gauges, wedges, stands, volumes).
The territory of the residency, inside the Lorraine Regional Nature Park, would enable me to meet people actively involved in the region, and exchange notes about planting systems associated with different forestry typologies. There are several methods of staking plants, depending on the species: single, double, tripod, tripod with stays, straight or sloping.
