Documents d'artistes Caraïbes
The Réseau documents d'artistes is delighted to support Documents d'artistes Caraïbes et Amazonies, a project born out of close dialogue over several years with cultural actors in Guadeloupe, French Guiana, and Martinique.
Originally conceived by Eline Gourgues (then co-director of La Station Culturelle, Martinique) and Cynthia Phibel (then president of Artistik Rézo, Guadeloupe), this project is part of a dynamic shift towards a decentralized perspective, promoting contemporary creation as it is conceived and experienced in these territories.
The first interregional initiative, Documents d'artistes Caraïbes et Amazonies will take the form of a digital platform dedicated to documenting and disseminating the practices of contemporary visual artists living and working in these regions.
The project is currently led by Lunyse Gabon, supported by a board of directors composed of David Démétrius, Judith Halfon, Hélène Dabriou, Bruno Pedurand, Christelle Lozère, Dominique Brebion, Yuwey Henri, and Marvin Yamb, bringing together expertise in creation, research, curation, criticism, and cultural engineering.
This ambitious project is supported by DAC Guadeloupe, DAC Martinique, DCJS French Guiana, the Region of Guadeloupe, the Territorial Collectivity of French Guiana, and the Territorial Collectivity of Martinique.
