Julie Hascoët
Julie Hascoët develops her projects in connection with the territories she surveys. From Brittany to Mexico, and on the roads of Europe, the same figures often recur in her work: uncertain lights, landscapes with heavy skies, wet rocks, cinderblocks and concrete, things left behind, walls under construction or abandoned, bodies lying down and gazes into the distance. In her images, which evoke the ruins of the contemporary world, there is a tension between past and future, between the fragile and the brutal. Her artistic research lies on the border between documentary writing and a symbolic approach, focusing on issues linked to the territory.
