Julie Bonnaud and Fabien Leplae have worked together since 2015 on a body of work that combines drawing, painting, publishing and gardening. Informed by speculative fiction and the philosophy of science, the two artists design form-generating technical devices in their lab-like studio. Their works involve a permanent collaboration between the world of technology – particularly through their use of drawbots (mural trackers that reproduce computer-generated drawings on paper) – and human intervention, and therefore postulate hybridisation as a necessary system for the preservation of life.
