Lives and works in Geneva

In constant mouvement, Anaïs Wenger's practice tends towards an appropriation of reality and the construction of shared experiences that shake up the usual cultural narratives. Through a variety of media such as writing, sculpture, installation and performance, she develops a poetic language that superimposes reading grids, questions value systems and suggests new critical narratives of the familiar that have become surprising.

Anaïs Wenger graduated in visual arts from the Haute école d'art et de design de Genève (HEAD), where she now works as an assistant. She also studied at the National College of Arts in Dublin before completing a CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies) in Dramaturgy and Textual Performance at the University of Lausanne and at La Manufacture (Lausanne, Switzerland). She has benefited from residencies at the Centre d'art contemporain de Genève and the Swiss Institute in Rome, has exhibited at the ICA Foundation (Milan, Italy) and the CAN (Neuchâtel, Switzerland) and has performed at the Kaserne (Basel, Switzerland). Since last year, her activities extend to programming in collaboration with the independent art space 3353 (Carouge, Switzerland), then the collective Wunderkammer (Lausanne, Switzerland).
