Lives and works in Plouezec
Marc Geneix uses the palimpsest as a way of investigating a form of contemporary reality. His work results from and is fuelled by tapping into signs taken from the media and culture reservoir of today’s world. It proceeds from a meshing together of micro-narratives and various visual disciplines such as drawing, installation and video. Through his blend of codes culled from pop culture, such as rock ‘n’ roll and westerns, the artist playfully combines a variety of iconographies and narratives, and in doing so questions the notion of a past mythology that is still at play or already underway.
