Bernard Plossu

Right now, Bernard Plossu is living in France, even though he is still globetrotting. He started taking photographs quite by chance in Mexico in 1965. His oeuvre overlaps with the evolution of contemporary French photography. His sensual images, with their noiseless, motionless vibrations, tell us about the softness of bodies, matter, and movement, and other "intermediate landscapes". Themes such as journeys, space and the family are often broached in an autobiographical way, and we find in his work a private style, and a language which can be identified over the years (Signatures, Maison de photographes).
