Countermeasures

A “countermeasure” is a defense measure in response to an attack. A fighter plane that sends out flaming iron filings to confuse the fire of a surface-to-air missile or a submarine that launches a sonic buoy to deceive the enemy about its position are two military examples of countermeasures. But countermeasures are present in all areas of human struggle and interaction.
