Through the looking glass
The work was created as part of a public commission for the sports building of the Sapay school, Plan-les-Ouates (Switzerland)

A huge wall mirror reflects the stairway that leads to the sports building's swimming pool. On the upper part of the large side wall, a succession of colored "prisms" are arranged at regular intervals to form an optical gradient similar to the spectrum of white light summarized in a hundred shades. The device of the work - based on a specifically invented optical illusion - gives the striking impression that this long gradient of colors literally comes through the mirror.
