Morvarid K
Born in 1982
Lives and works in Mérignac and Berlin
Born in Teheran in 1982, Morvarid K is a visual artisit and performer, living and working in Bordeaux and Berlin. She is represented by Bigaignon gallery in Paris.
Through the manipulation of photographic material, Morvarid K questions our relationship to time, transformative memory and the interstice. The photographic medium anchors her work in reality, while transformative techniques bring additional expressions that photography could not capture. The print thus becomes a material, a stage in the creative process, before the gesture or performative experience completes the work. The artist appropriates the meaning the existential mathematician Laurent Derobert gives to the word “lack” : infinite presence of absence.
