Lives and works in
Lise Dua graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles in 2013. She is interested in what makes a family, in humans on a small scale, and also in the larger scale of life as a whole. She often uses details photographed or sampled from archival images to try to highlight these themes. The artist’s work is developed over an extended timeline that enables her to move backward and forward between several points of view and various periods. A lot of room is left for the subconscious to express itself, thus revealing the invisible forces at work. Lise Dua’s mediums of choice are books, which she has self-published for several years.
