Lives and works in Toulon
At the intersection of storytelling and shape, Léo Fourdrinier’s sculptures and installations present themselves as syncretic works. Merging references that draw from a wide range of domains, such as antique statuary, motorbike mechanics, pop culture, decorative arts, archaeology and science as a whole, his work relies on a keen sense of composition. Power and sensitivity, structure and beauty, the living and the artificial, love and geometry… The dualities at play in his works invariably prompt new narratives. Furthermore, foundational stories are reinterpreted through the lens of the techno-sensitive era and the use of industrial or self-made materials found at random. Léo Fourdrinier’s work is a play on anachronism that offers a contemporary take on mythologies through a hybrid, surrealistic and intimate vision.
