I no longer seek the source of my creation outside. Rather I delve into my own interiority which is essential to the authenticity and accuracy of my work.
I work by a process of elimination, weeding out all intellectual and visual pollution which is not my own. Starting with an accumulation of images and objects that liven my day-to-day, I arrive at a substrate. I Place forms in their proper place, in the most fitting way with an economy of means. I Eliminate superfluous effects, I reduce, subtract, purify down to the essence.
Light surges from interiority's obscurity. It is within this cast void that everything lurks and is revealed. What matters to me today is accuracy, the work's self presence. The whole, centrality, the unchanging, formal, spatial, and temporal primacy.
The image is without figure, devoid of known effigies. It is without referent. It is part of being's world, and no longer of pure being.
There time no longer exists. It is suspended and space is the work's own.
