La Vallée

For ten years, the artists Nicolas Giraud and Bertrand Stofleth surveyed a modest but exemplary territory, a succession of valleys which connect the Loire to the Rhône and which were one of the cradles of the industrial revolution. La Vallée is the result of this vast project of photographic capture where the images operate like cuts in time. Their frames bring together objects distant in time to reunite them in the image. The Valley thus unfolds like a tensioning of the elements that form the landscape and testify to its history.
